Step 2: RESEARCH!

Where to start?

Here are some things that you need to consider:

a). Start your research using Research Data Bases.  These are vetted sources e.g. Gale: Global Issues in Context, Worldbook, Curio.ca

b). As you do your research add to your References (this saves you having to go back later and try to find where you got your information from).

Citation of Resources
  • At Royal Bay (and most post secondary institutes) you will be expected to cite your resources using APA.
  • What is APA?
  • The last page of your research paper should be titled “References” which lists all references you paraphrased, cited, and copied images from.
  • Click HERE for additional tools to help with APA.

NOTE: Gale and Worldbook will create an APA citation for you.

Avoid Plagiarism!  What is paraphrasing? What are direct quotes?

When/if you go to the open internet for resources, be sure to critically evaluate them before taking “information” from them.  Critical Evaluation of Internet Resources
