APA Referencing

What is APA Referencing?

  • APA stands for American Psychological Association.
  • APA Referencing is a set of rules (or standard procedures) for referencing your research sources in your papers and projects.

Why do you need to learn this system?

    • This system of referencing is the academic writing expectation for MANY post secondary institutes.
    • It is a valuable tool for any type of writing, e.g., blogs, websites, etc.
    • Familiarity with the rules helps you to avoid plagiarism.

EasyBib – add this to your Google docs > Add-ons

    • Creating a reference page should be the first thing you do when you embark on a research project.
    • Use docs, then you can add your reference page to your project (e.g. ppt, google slides, poster, etc.). when you are done.
