What is Google Apps for Education?

To support this collaborative learning model and access to technology, Royal Bay has 350 Chromebooks for students use.  Additionally, student can access their Google Apps for Education (GAFE) account from the PCs at Royal Bay, their phones, tablets, laptops, and home computers – giving students access to their work anytime, anyplace.

Username and Email Address

It can take a little bit figure out how to use a Chromebook.  One of the first things you should be aware of is how to login.

User name: fist initial, last initial and last 4 digits of student number. e.g. If my name is Sara Cold and my student number is 546789, my user name would be sc6789.

Sarah’s email address would then be:

sc6789@sd62learns.org

Obviously, your email address will be your fist initial, last initial and last 4 digits of student number followed by @sd62learns.org

The first time you login to a Chromebook your password will be your full student number.

You will then be prompted to create a new password.  This password must be at least 8 digits long and can be the same password that you use for your network access.
