English 10 – Marijuana Legalization Research
Where to start?
1. Here are some things that you need to consider:
- Always start your research with vetted reliable sources.
Vetted, reliable sources:
– Canadian Government – Legalization and Regulation of Cannabis
– Parliament of Canada Bill C-45 (Use the table of contents to help you navigate)
– CTV News Links to official information about legalizing cannabis in Canada - Research Data Bases
2. Citing
- As you do your research add to your References (this saves you having to go back later and try to find where you got your information from).
3. Note Taking Template
- This will help you to organise your research and think critically about the information you gather.
Avoid Plagiarism! What is paraphrasing? What are direct quotes?
4. Internet searches
When/if you go to the open internet for resources, be sure to critically evaluate them before taking “information” from them.
